Health and Wellness
There are numerous ministries available at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church to promote health and wellness in the congregation: Spiritually, physically and emotionally.
· PARISH NURSE presents educational information, provides blood pressure clinics, and visits shut-ins; those in assisted living facilities, nursing homes and hospitals. The nurse provides counseling and makes recommendations concerning health and wellness issues.
· BLOOD ASSURANCE PROGRAM in cooperation with Holston Valley Wellmont Hospital provides for members to donate blood in the church name and allows members of the church to receive blood at no charge when needed.
· CARE AND CONCERN PROGRAM is designed to help members of the Holy Trinity family in times of need due to illness, accident, birth, death or other crisis. There is a monthly coordinator whose name is published in the bulletin, The Trumpet and listed in the church office. This is the person to contact if there is a need within the congregation for help such as meals, transportation for medical appointments, grocery shopping, or help with small home projects. Everyone is encouraged to join this program and lend a hand.
· STEPHEN MINISTERS are lay persons trained to provide distinctly Christian, confidential care to those in our congregation who are experiencing all kinds of needs. Further information is in this packet under Stephen Ministry.
